Hiding

"pain. painful existence.
not dark or gloomy,
but full of light instead.
colorful, delightful, goofy,
covered in parties and powdered sugar
to hide the sour
of so many lows
that invalidate the little highs ahead.
days and days of nightmares,
followed by the talk of dreams
as the strength to get out of bed
becomes dimmer.

but no one sees,
no one dares.
after all,
it is so much easier to look away,
from a painful life experience
than to acknowledge
its problem or its existence."
