Crying For No Reason

Crying for no reason

“Why are you crying?”

Ask the voices in her head,

As tears stream down her face.

“Why are you crying?”

They ask again.

I don’t know!

She shouts back,

Trying to dry her eyes in vain.

“Why are you crying?”

Asks her family,

As she feels their look of disdain.

And she can guess their thoughts easily,

How they don’t take her seriously.

“I don’t know!”

She shouts back at them,

A pool of tears forming under her feet.

“I don’t know. I don’t know”

She whispers to herself,

Voice cracking,

Heart breaking.

But, deep down,

She knows why.

She knows it’s because,

Every single day,

She tries to reach those around her,

Looking desperately for help,

Of any kind,

No matter how small,

Just enough to keep her from drowning.

Every single day,

She fights to try

And make them realize

How much she truly is screaming.

Every single day.

And yet, no one listens.

No. One. Fucking. Listens.
